I AM A TALKATIVE WHO WRITES

"Une bavarde qui écrit", autobiographie poétique en anglais sur le don d'écriture, outil de témoignage de vie et de résilience...

People used to call me talkative since my childhood,

So, using words for me isn't something new.

Being young, I liked to speak about all and nothing.

Guess growing, that habit stuck hard with me...

But ever since, people tried to suppress that skill of mine,

I learnt how to bottle things up, how to behave between dark and light.

In my disguised quietness, talking alone or in my mind,

I started spilling out my teas on paper, mild and wild...

All from sci-fi to spoken word poetry,

I learnt to brew my life's experiments before bringing them out.

I recall putting my stories together while in class,

Writing at the same speed as my teacher delivered lessons.

I wrote about worlds, about names, about technologies,

I was even ready to make a whole living out of this,

But once again, people minimized my young age at that time.

Guess my environment wasn't ready for this fire of mine...

And so, I kept on writing, bleeding and healing,

Refining and redefining my opinions and my heart,

Trying hard to cast out suicidal demonic thoughts,

As I leaned on my knowing of a God whose power is beyond anything.

And now, ever since i gave my life to Christ,

I decided to bear witness in giving some of my salt and some of my light,

Writing about my faith, my beliefs, and what my eyes have seen,

Trying hard to unveil the depths of my heart, and of my soul within.

So yeah! I'm a talkative who writes,

Functioning in silence, observing systems collapse as times go by,

Who sows those seeds through the words released,

Coming from a french background is not a barrier to me...

My goal is not to boast.

My final goal is to let people know that despite any odds,

With the will of the Lord and by His only grace, one can achieve anything,

As long as one keeps his eyes and heart on Him alone...

I'm a talkative who writes,

Trying to share a little of what I learnt in wisdom,

A little of how to shake off one's fears,

How, sometimes, to be brave enough to move on...

I'm a talkative who writes,

I'm a woman that still has a lot to conquer,

A lot to build, a lot to see, a lot to feel and to learn.

I'm a talkative not by assumption,

But a disciplined talkative by resolution

Seeking to be friendly and demure no matter what,

Even when my words can sometimes sound cold or harsh.

I'm a talkative who writes,

About faith, about men, about societies,

Not because I know it all,

But because I've been given this gift by Christ living through me;

And along the way, my hand in HIS,

Trying to follow HIS faithfulness.

I'm given the grace to walk with HIM,

And at every turning point, to see HIS mighty hand.
